3.1 SOFTWOOD
Baltic Pine and Pinus Radiata only.
3.1.1 VARNISH FINISH
a) Apply one coat of BIO Priming Oil. Remove
excess oil with a clean cloth after 15-30 minutes.
b) After 24 hours drying time, apply BIO Floor
Varnish thinned down with 10-20% BIO Thinner. Let
dry thoroughly - 12-24 hours. Sand if necessary after
the first coat. Apply the second coat only after the
previous coat has been thoroughly dried. Second coat
may need 5- 10% BIO Thinner. Reaches maximum durability
after 14-21 days. Furniture may be brought in after
3 days.
c) Care and cleaning with BIO Timber Care Polish. When the varnish is fully hardened, heavily
used floors should be treated with undiluted self
polishing BIO Timber Care Polish. Apply thinly
and evenly with an absorbent cloth. Repeat this treatment
every so often. For regular cleaning use approx. 50
ml of BIO Timber Care Polish in 5 Litres water.
Use a damp (not dripping wet) mop. Small scratches
can be improved with a thin coat of BIO Hard Floor
Wax. Larger damages should be lightly sanded and retreated
with BIO Floor Varnish thinned with 50% BIO Thinner.
3.1.2 WAX FINISH
a) Apply one coat or two coats of BIO
TEAK Oil. If warmed to about 80+C in a water bath the
oil will penetrate deeper into the wood. Use only 30-60
ml per sqm depending of the absorbency of the timber.
Remove the excess oil with a lint-free cloth after 10-20
minutes. Burnish the oil into the surface. Best with
an orbital sander using a polishing pad.
b) After 24 hours drying time, spread a thin
layer of BIO Hard Floor Wax. If warmed up in a water
bath, you can spread the Hard Floor Wax much easier.
Use only 20 ml per sqm. Polish after 3- 5 hours with
a lint-free cloth or polishing pad. If the floor surface
appears uneven, reapply a coat of BIO Hard Floor Wax.
After the final coat the floor should be left for approximately
three days for the curing process to occur. Reaches
maximum durability after 28 days.
c) Care and cleaning with BIO Natural Cleaning
Emulsion. When the wax is fully hardened, heavily used
floors should be treated with undiluted self-polishing
BIO Timber Care Polish. Apply thinly and evenly
with an absorbent cloth. Repeat this treatment every
so often. For regular cleaning use approx. 50 ml of
BIO Timber Care Polish in 5 Litres water. Use
a damp (not dripping wet) mop. The surface can be re-coated
with BIO Hard Floor Wax as often as desired. Every two
years, remove and replace wax for optimum appearance.

BIO Timber Care Polish in 5 Litres water Use
a damp (not wet dripping) mop.
3.1.5 OIL FINISH
a) Apply one to two coats of BIO Teak Oil. If warmed to about 80+c in a water bath the oil will penetrate deeper into the timber. Use only 30-50 ml per sqm. depending on the absorbency of the timber. Remove the excess oil with a clean cloth about 10-20 minutes. Burnish the oil into the surface. Best with an orbital sander using a polishing pad.
b) Care and cleaning with BIO Natural Timber Care Polish. After 4 weeks, when the varnish is fully hardened, heavily used floors should be treated with undiluted self-polishing BIO Natural Timber Care Polish. Apply thinly and evenly with an absorbent cloth.
