DESCRIPTION
Bio Enamel Lacquer is a dirt and water-repellent, gloss or
matt painted finish, containing no toxic solvents, resins or heavy metals.
It is suitable for use on toys, paneling, skirting
boards and architraves, doors and window.
PREPARATION
Prepare the surface in accordance Australian Standard 2311 Painting of Buildings.
Do not apply coatings to unseasoned or wet timber. Surfaces
already painted in gloss or
semi-gloss paint should be well sanded, dry and cleaned of greasy, waxy and dirty contaminants using
BIO Thinner. Round off sharp
edges. It is also good practice to prime back surfaces.
Hardwoods and other timbers rich in natural oils, waxes, acids and terpenes should be degreased using Bio Thinner because these substances may mix with the paint and prolong its drying time.
Imperfect coatings may require
complete stripping before applying BIO Products. Timber moisture content must be under 15% for softwood, and under 12% for hardwood.
Fill imperfections and cracks with a suitable filler.
METAL PRIMING
Provides anti-corrosive protection for steel,
aluminium, brass and copper. Not effective on zinc and
galvanized surfaces. The metal should be cleaned of all
grease, dirt, processing soil, salt residues, weld
scale, rust and other residue which is likely to affect
the performance of a protective coating. Apply 1-2 coats
of Metal Primer thinly and evenly. Lightly sand between
coats when completely dry. Finish with Bio Enamel
Lacquer in white or coloured.
APPLICATION
Stir thoroughly before use with a broad flat stirrer.
Apply one coat of undercoat and two
coats of topcoat. Minimum dry film thickness is 100
microns. Maintain a wet edge when painting. Best results
are achieved using thin coats. Thick coats will cause
runs to appear.

DRYING
Drying tome on a day around 25C
is approx 2-4 hours. During cold and humid weather allow
longer drying time. Apply second and subsequent coats only after previous coat has thoroughly dried.
Do not be tempted to apply paint too
thickly, as this retards the drying process. Lightly
sand if necessary after the undercoat. Do not use below
+12C and above 80% humidity, in cold damp
conditions; when condensation, rain, dew or frost are
likely to occur; on on days; in direct sunlight; or on
hot surfaces. Provide adequate ventilation during
application and drying. Avoid steam and condensation for
48 hours. Reaches maximum durability after 8-14 days.

The white based top coat can be
