DESCRIPTION
Bio Enamel Lacquer is a dirt and water-repellent, semi gloss or
satin painted finish, containing no toxic solvents, resins or heavy metals.
Suitable for all wood types, steel,
aluminium and copper. Especially suitable for use on toys, paneling, skirting
and architraves, garage doors and window
frames.
PREPARATION
Prepare the surface in accordance Australian Standard 2311 Painting of Buildings.
Surfaces
should be well sanded, dry and cleaned of greasy, waxy and dirty contaminants using
BIO Thinner. Do not apply coatings to unseasoned or wet timber. Round off sharp
edges. It is also good practice to prime back surfaces.
Hardwoods and other timbers rich in natural oils, waxes, acids and terpenes should be degreased using Bio Thinner because these substances may mix with the paint and prolong its drying time.
Imperfect coatings may require
complete stripping before applying BIO Products. Timber moisture content must be under 15% for softwood, and under 12% for hardwood.
METAL PRIMING
Provides anti-corrosive protection for steel,
aluminium, brass and copper. Not effective on zinc and
galvanized surfaces. The metal should be cleaned of all
grease, dirt, processing soil, salt residues, weld
scale, rust and other residue which is likely to affect
the performance of a protective coating. Apply 1-2 coats
of Metal Primer thinly and evenly. Lightly sand between
coats when completely dry. Finish with Bio Enamel
Lacquer in white or coloured.
APPLICATION
Stir thoroughly before use with a broad flat stirrer.
First apply one coat of BIO Enamel Lacquer Undercoat water based on new or imperfect surfaces followed by two coats of topcoat. Thining of BIO Enamel Lacquer Undercoat with water only and topcoat as desired with 5-10% BIO
Thinner to obtain a smooth flowing consistency. Apply one coat
BIO Enamel Lacquer Undercoat two
coats of topcoat. Minimum wet film thickness for each
coat must be 100
microns. Maintain a wet edge when painting.

DRYING
Apply second and subsequent coats
only after previous coat has thoroughly dried. This will
take between 24 and 40 hours, and longer with cold or
damp weather. Do not be tempted to apply paint too
thickly, as this retards the drying process. Lightly
sand if necessary. Do not use below
+12C and above 80% humidity, in cold damp
conditions; when condensation, rain, dew or frost are
likely to occur; on on days; in direct sunlight; or on
hot surfaces. Provide adequate ventilation during
application and drying. Avoid steam and condensation for
48 hours. Reaches maximum durability after 8-14 days.
